Notes - The name James Cockram is taken from baptism records in Swillington Parish which show him to be the father of Martha Cockram and grandfather of her children. In these records he is James Cockram or Cockeram of Castleford and a labourer.
In the IGI a christening record in Kippax for Martha Cockram gives her father as John Cockram. Although this was in 1763 and her birth year calculated from her death certificate should be about 1761 it is doubtful to be the correct baptism record (IGI batch no. P010821).
A possible marriage for James Cockram would be to Martha Shaw in Featherstone on 17 SEP 1759 (IGI batch no. M004991).
