• Notes

  A Silk Bible Bookmark was made commemorating Charlotte after her passing. It is inscribed with " In loving memory of Charlotte Barker, died March 3rd, 1918, Aged 70 yrs. dearest Mother we have laid thee in the peaceful grave's embrace, but thy memory will be cherished till we see thy heavenly face". Interred at Woodhouse Cemetery, March 7th, 1918. " AT REST WITH GOD". The 1911 census of England states that Charlotte had 14 children born alive but 4 had died leaving 10 still living in 1911. It was known to my family that Elizabeth was her 7th child so 1 died before 1883 either in Wednesbury or Leeds and 3 died in Leeds after that year.
